You spend $50 on dinner, that's grounds for intercourse.

This past weekend I did the following: went to a Reds game with the in-laws, stayed for fireworks, went out to breakfast, went to a wedding reception thingy, watched a movie, cleaned our entire house, sold some wedding stuff, went out to dinner with friends, watched a movie, watched a Tori and Dean Hollywood marathon, went canoeing, watched a movie. As you can see we watched a few movies and the Tori/Dean Hollywood thing was a fluke because I was bored [although I now want to read sTori Telling – for funsies mostly and to practice reading.] Since The Collective is reviewing movies this week, AND I did lots of movie watching this past weekend, AND I have an opinion on EVERYTHING, I thought I’d fill you in on what we’ve recently watched.

The Kingdom – I love Jennifer Garner but between this and Catch and Release it’s a tossup. She is plagued with writers REFUSING to develop her character… Juno? However, I must give her props for this movie in that she gets really dirty and shoots guns. FBI agents going to Saudi Arabia looking for revenge just doesn’t do it for me. They tried to be political, but failed.
My recommendation is PASS.

Fool’s Gold – This duo teamed up in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and won me over in ten seconds. Unfortunately, this was yet another movie in which unfortunate over-acting and Kate Hudson’s lack of breast buds results in a real snoozer. I bet costume designers love it when McConaughey is in a movie – they never have to find him a shirt! [and in more recent news his dad died while fornicating]
My recommendation is PASS.

Smart People - This was a film festival favorite and if I hadn’t already seen Little Miss Sunshine and Juno.. I might have liked it. Ellen Page is undoubtedly type-cast as quick-witted bore. I saw her on Ellen and fell asleep. My girl's-night friends disagreed with me on this one, they liked it. And although I must admit Thomas Hayden Church added some creepy-uncle flair and SJP still had her beloved mole, this movie still fell flat for me. There were some great quotes, “You should really make your bed. It sets the tone for the day.
My recommendation is PASS OR WATCH WITH LOW EXPECTATIONS.

27 Dresses – I wish I watched this movie and I was so close except for the fact that the DVD did not work when I inserted it. That was a close call. I don’t care if it’s cheesy or if Katherine Heigle isn’t nearly as cute as when she starred in Knocked Up [top fav list]. I don’t want to see it because I heart Grey’s Anatomy because I hate that show. I just want to watch it. I want to take a chance at life.
My recommendation is THAT I WILL WATCH THIS MOVIE.

Overall I wasted almost six hours of my precious life. Although none of these movies were as bad as anything by Will Ferrel or My Super Ex GF i'm still waiting for something to really catch my attention. As of late, The Dark Knight and The Other Boleyn Girl are the closest I've come to real entertainment.

Ooh, I really liked The Other Boleyn Girl and The Dark Knight. Have you seen Wall-E? It's totally cute.
