Arians are frank, direct and candid, and make passionate but fastidious lovers.

Happy April! I really am happy it’s April because my birthday is in April and I absolutely and totally heart my birthday. I like to flip through magazines in April and MY horoscope, the spunktacular Aries, is always the first one! It just so happens my birthday is my favorite holiday of the entire year AND I am lucky enough to be marrying someone who shares that same opinion [granted we have been working on this for five years now – I got a corn griller one year people]. It’s really not about the presents, mostly just about me and how excited I am on my birthday. One birthday FI surprised me at work with flowers and a box of my absolute favorite doughnuts with candles in them. I was so happy that day. Another time he took me on a hike and we picnicked on a cliff with wine and cheese that he packed in his backpack. After that, took me to a castle and we had dinner and stayed in a little cottage. He made mojitos for me that night and we overflowed the jet tub with bubbles [note to future romantics – too much cucumber melon and you’ll be scooping bubbles off the floor for an hour] Can you see why I love my birthday people? This year for my birthday I have asked for fish and fondue. Not together and not fish dipped in fondue, but I bet if fish could talk they would say they really like fondue. Anywho, I want to go to the aquarium, because I have never been and I want to have dinner at the Melting Pot [Disclaimer: The Melting Pot is a total rip off but I am a sucker for the experience.] I mostly like the cheese appetizers and the chocolate dessert part – maybe we’ll skip on the meal. But I cannot wait for my 28th.

I also cannot wait until I have kids [no April fools lovers I’m not pregnant nor will I pretend to be just because its April 1] and I can make them *love* their birthdays. We will have princess parties and tea parties – ninja day and superhero costumes with breakfast. It’s not just the day you fell out of your mother’s vajayjay – it’s the day time stood still for you to wake up, wipe the placental juice off your face and make your way into a world that can’t wait to see what you have to offer. The world has been both baffled and surprised by me – even a little proud [embarrassed, horrified, bdazzled] –but just wait world – I’ve only just begun!

** I have just been alerted to yet another April happiness. New Kids On The Block [NKOTB – baby!] will be reuniting on the “Today” show April 4th! In 4th grade my cohort and I wore our NKOTB t-shirts and larger than life buttons every Thursday. Mine was of Jordan, at least my shirt was anyway, but I also had a Donnie button. We would sing ‘Hanging Tough’ to the boys during indoor recess while they played penny hockey. I still think their Xmas album rocks the house down – Jewish or not – those boys evoke yuletide cheer. That’s right world, an NKOTB reunion is just what April needs – now if I could just get Tiffany to sing “I think we’re alone now” at my wedding my year would be stupendous!**

So I hear you and Heidi have my life planned for me, which is awesome because it means I don't have to do it myself. Score!

Also, are all of these birthday events FI has done for you for real? Because it sounds like something Bax would make up.

Heidi, are you implying that I'm a liar?

no for serious those birthday events are legit (hense why I accepted a proposal from a man without a job!)
